So guys...it's been since 99 and
many great times with the car but I am finally about ready to
part with it. The need for speed and something that just lights
my fire more is overwhelming and I'm sorry to say that the Passat
just doesn't make the grade anymore. Granted putting the APR chip
in was the single best money EVER spent on a car...it's still
not enough. I blame myself however; I should have known that no
matter how tuned I COULD have made this car it would never live
up to what I am yearning for.
So once I get the windshield replaced due to the famous "L"
shaped Passat crack and another rock chip she will be in tip top
shape. There are absolutely NO dings or dents whatsoever (due
to my wife and passenger's pain of "mile-away" parking)
on the car...no scratches...and the interior leather is in excellent
shape. I hand wash and care for the car using Zymol, and Griots'
array of detail products and I condition the leather every chance
I get with Maguire's Leather cleaner/conditioner. There are no
mechanical issues whatsoever with her and I have COMPLETE history
on ALL service visits regardless of how minute. The oil is changed
every 3-5000 miles depending on use and oil quality. I will not
wait the factory recommended time of 10K...as I think that's insane
on a 5V per cylinder, turbo motor.
The dealer extended warranty is still in effect until 75K miles
and she is currently at 62K. The Factory powertrain warranty of
10/100 is still in effect as well. The engine is running strong
and the transmission feels great still. I am an avid heel/toe
user so clutch life has been maximized and should be good to go
for another 60K miles if one drives it right. the car also has
the front speakers replaced with Kenwood
KFC-1687.
Tires on the front are new and the back is at 50%. All four are
Dunlop SP sport 5000 and are great in the wet and grip superbly
over the stock rubber in just about any conditions.
Overall I want to sell the car to someone who will appreciate
it and take very good care of it. A VW enthusiast is preferable,
someone who will enjoy the chip and appreciate the wonderful chassis
development. This is a great car and if I hadn't had my mind polluted
by the prancing horse I wouldn't be getting rid of her.
OH BTW the chip gave more than just a performance gain...it has
a practical gain as well. Gas mileage has been increased ever
since the chip was installed. I routinely get 40MPG on long highway
trips. AND it is MANUAL transmission...5spd.
I'm asking 17K$...however I am
taking/entertaining ANY SERIOUS offer... and best offer wins obviously.
